The law firm was frustrated. Calls for help were going unanswered. Projects that had been approved, but then put on hold for months were now actively impacting day to day operations, and the firm was vulnerable. Additionally, when stake holders asked about critical changes to security and “the cloud” their existing resources was very evasive and dismissive of the conversations. Empower IT Group was referred in by another attorney friend, and immediately followed our process. Assessment of the existing environment shows several weaknesses. Licensing that had expired. Backups that were not working properly. Systems that were unmanaged, and several points of failure within the environment. Rather than “blast” outbound IT, we engaged with them to strategically secure the environment, overcome the mistakes being made, and ultimately have a graceful handoff for ongoing management, maintenance and support. At no point was the transition adversarial, and ultimately the client got what they needed, and the IT guy was relieved to move forward without the burden of accountability for a firm that had scaled beyond his ability to support.
